Dyer Aqua is the food fish division of Dyer Aqua, a science-based marine aquaculture company with more than 30 employees. The company’s other divisions are Maritech, which handles research & development and Proaquatix, a leading producer of ornamental fish for the pet industry.

To bring its products to market, Dyer Aqua and its predecessors have invested approximately $20 million in aquaculture research over a period of 10 years.

In Fall 2005, Dyer Aqua became the first company to supply the U.S. market with fresh farm-raised pompano on a commercial scale. From its specialized hatchery in Sebastian, Florida, Dyer Aqua supplies fingerlings to its grow-out facilities in The Bahamas, Panama, and soon, Belize.  While other attempts at commercializing pompano have failed over the last thirty years, Maritech has surmounted the many hurdles to achieve efficient, timely spawning, growth and survivability.

Dyer Aqua’s functional operations are divided into four areas: research & development, broodstock, hatchery, and production. Research & development, hatchery and broodstock operations for food fish are carried out in Dyer Aqua’s two facilities in Sebastian and Vero Beach, Florida. Fish are currently raised to market size in The Bahamas and Panama.
